OREANDA-NEWS. June 30, 2014. This May Klaipeda Seaport turnover increased by +17.5 per cent: totally 2 979,5 thous. tones were handled, i.e. by +444.4 thous. t more than in May 2013. In Butinge terminal 701.2 thous. tones were handled.

Such result was mainly impacted by the increase of turnover of bulk, liquid and packaged fertlizers (+35.2 per cent): totally 1 067.5 thous. tones (+35,2 per cent or +278,0 tous. Tones, comparing with May 2013) were handled. Butinge Terminal shall also be noticed: oil turover increased by +41,1 per cent, arba +204.4 thous. tones, comparing with May 2013.

Other cargoes impacted on increase of turnover in May:

- Oil products (565.2 thous. tones were handled, +13.5 per cent or +67.1 thous. tones);

- Containerized cargoes (474.3 thous. tones were handled, +20.5 per cent or +80.5 thous. tones);

- Ro-ro cargoes (386.7 thous. tones were handled, -3.8 per cent or -15.2 thous. tones);

- Ore (106.9 thous. tones were handled, +131.1 per cent or +60.6 thous. tones);

- Metal waste (64.8 thous. tones were handled, +250.9 per cent or +46.3 thous. tones).
