OREANDA-NEWS. Starting August 13, 2014, KDDI and Okinawa Cellular will begin offering the new Unlimited Voice & Data Freedom rate plan. This rate plan is a combination of the Unlimited Voice Call Plan, which gives users domestic voice calls at a flat rate, and the Flat-rate Data service, which is a flat-rate data communication service with six data quantities that users can choose.

KDDI and Okinawa Cellular will also begin providing the Data Gifting service, which is a service where family members can give their data quantities to each other. This service is the first of its kind by any domestic telecommunications carrier.

The Unlimited Voice Call Plan is a rate plan that allows users to make domestic calls at a flat rate regardless of the length of the call or how many calls they make.

Flat-rate Data is a service that provides six data quantities (2GB, 3GB, 5GB, 8GB, 10GB, and 13GB) users can choose from.

The quantity of data communication and the way it is used vary from customer to customer. With this service, customers can choose the optimum quantity detailed just for them. Also, customers can use the service at a cheaper unit price by selecting services with larger data quantities.

Furthermore, if the data quantity they choose is not enough, they can add the Data Charge service to the rate plan, which allows them to purchase data starting from 0.5GB.

The Data Gifting service is a new service where family members can give data quantities to each other when needed at no addition charge, such as a parent giving a specific quantity of data to their child.

By combining Data Gifting and Flat-rate Data, customers can choose a rate plan that suits each of their family member's usage as well as give data quantities to each other when needed, allowing them to use data communication services at a bargain without waste.

KDDI is also planning a Long-Term Bonus Data Gift, a periodic gift of data quantity from au that is based on length of users' contracts for long-term users.

In line with the start of the new rate plan, KDDI will launch five campaigns that include trial campaigns for flat-rate voice calls from July 1, 2014.
