OREANDA-NEWS.  June 25, 2014. "Kazkosmos" needs 2.5 billion tenge annually for Earth remote sensing. This has been announced by the Chairman of the National Space Agency of Kazakhstan Talgat Musabayev at Government Hour in Majilis.

"Today, the public authorities are interested in use of remotely sensed data in solving sectoral problems. However, they offer us to do it free of charge. "Kazkosmos" can provide for a free transmission of RSD pictures for public organs and organizations, on conditions that there will be allocation of budget funds for operating costs - about 2.5 billion tenge per year - to national operator "Space System "RSD"," T. Musabayev said.

According to him, it will allow to avoid duplication of budget programs for solving the same problems in different ministries and departments. According to T.Musabayev, "Kazkosmos" can be Administrator of unified budget program for products and services of the SS "RSD".

The structure of "SS" RSD" consists of two spacecraft: high and medium spatial resolution, and ground-based target complex and RSD ground spacecraft control complex in Astana.
