Kazakhstan to Direct 100 bn Tenge to Develop Food Industry
OREANDA-NEWS. June 24, 2014. First 100 billion out of 1 trillion tenge allotted by the National Fund, will go for development of food-processing industry, Prime Minister Karim Massimov said at the joint session of the Kazakh Parliament chambers in Astana.
"The first 100 billion tenge allotted by the National Fund for financial support of national economy was earmarked for development of food-processing industry," the Premier said.
The head of Government reminded that President N. Nazarbayev had initiated a range of unprecedented measures to support Kazakhstan's economy financially. "The National Fund has allotted a total of 1 trillion tenge to this end. The first 100 billion tenge out of that sum will be spent to develop food-processing industry and attract foreign investments into that sector," K. Massimov noted.
He also added that Kazakhstan imports food industry products worth nearly USD3 billion annually.
