OREANDA-NEWS. June 24, 2014. The Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS Russia) recognized that the Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation and “Moscow State University of Railway Engineering” (MIIT) violated the Federal Law “On Protection of Competition” (Article 16).

In 2011 the Ministry of Transport concluded an agreement that led to restricting competition in a tender for the right to conclude a government contract for research work on “Devising scientifically-proven proposals on creating a system of training specialists in transport security in view of the specifics of various types of transport under the framework of the Integrated Programme for Transport Safety of the Population”.

The antimonopoly case was initiated upon materials forwarded to FAS from the Federal Security Service.

“The decision is the result of inter-branch cooperation between the Federal Security Service, the Investigation Committee of the Russian Federation and FAS. The antimonopoly authority plans to continue interacting with the law enforcement bodies and regulators in investigating cases on violating the antimonopoly law by official of the authorities”, pointed out Deputy Head of FAS, Alexander Kinev.

The case materials will also be forwarded to the Investigation Committee of the Russian Federation to hold criminally liable the responsible officials of the Ministry of Transport.
