Czech Companies Interested in Carrying Out of Projects in Moldova
OREANDA-NEWS. June 24, 2014. The Czech Republic is interested in the carrying out of investment projects in transports infrastructure projects in Moldova.
Czech Senate Vice President Premysl Sobotka has made statements to this effect at a meeting with Transports and Roads’ Infrastructure Minister Vasile Botnari.
According to the Transports and Roads’ Infrastructure Ministry’s press service, Vasile Botnari informed the Czech official about the actions undertaken to modernise the Moldovan transport infrastructure, as well as in terms of adjusting the national legislation to the European directives on the passenger and freight transport.
“Presently, Moldova has initiated a vast process of legislative and institutional reform in the railway, air, road sectors, the goal of which is to implement the European standards. We will be happy to enjoy the support of a country which went through these processes, in order to advance quicker,” the minister said.
Also, Vasile Botnari conveyed, via the senators, an invitation to Czech companies to participate in tenders in the areas of roads construction, railways’ modernisation, etc.
For his part, Premysl Sobotka voiced the Czech authorities’ willingness to provide Moldova with assistance in its European integration. He also referred to the Czech companies’ interest in carrying out investment projects in the field of roads and railway infrastructure. “I ascertain that our nations have comparable mentalities, and if there is seriousness during discussions, we are confident that the implementation of what we agreed on will be the same. There is an increased interest on behalf of Czech companies in the carrying out of infrastructure projects in Moldova, both via the launch of its own projects and in the participation in tenders in this field,” the Czech Senate’s vice president added.
