OREANDA-NEWS. The first Il-76MD-90A production airplane was rolled out from the final assembly in Aviastar-SP. The airplane was installed with the system and the equipment, and the cockpit was equipped with modern avionics. The fuel test had also been done on the airplane. The airplane will be delivered to “Spectr-Avia” for painting. After the painting the airplane will be passing ground and flight tests. “Together with the United Aircraft Corporation and the “UAC - Transport aircrafts” we finished the main stage of the production of the first Il-76MD-90A production airplane under the contract with the Ministry of Defense of Russian Federation. This year, the airplane will be delivered to the customer” - said Aviastar-SP Director General Sergey Dementiev.

According to the contract with the Ministry of Defense Aviastar-SP must produce 39 airplanes. Today in the production are about 13 Il-76 airplanes.

Il-76MD-90A is an extensively modified version of the well-proven Il-76MD airplane, which was produced in the Republic f Uzbekistan in Tashkent Aviation Production Association named after N.Chkalov.

New flight and navigation system, automatic control system, communications system and the “glass” cab meet all the requirements for aircraft avionics. They also increase the safety of flights and the accuracy of navigation and landing. Replacement of regular D-30KP2 engines with modern PS-90A-76, the installation of a modified wing and reinforced chassis significantly extend the operational capabilities of the airplane.
