OREANDA-NEWS. June 20, 2014. PT Pertamina (Persero) disburses Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) aids for Rote Ndao people as part of the company’s contribution to people living around its operation areas.

The aid handover was conducted by Pertamina Sales and Marketing Director Hanung Budya to the principals of GMIT Oesamboka, Oemaulain and Sanggoen Elementary Schools as well as heads of Holoama, Tuanatu and Sanngoen Community Health Centers (Puskesmas).

In the health sector, Pertamina gave the three Puskesmas (Holoama, Tuanatu and Sanggaoen) weighing machines for baby, weighing machines for adult, stethoscopes, HB checkers, tools for childbirth, beds for childbirth and blood pressure readers.

In addition to the aids in Rote Ndao, for the East Nusa Tenggara area, Pertamina has also given aids in terms of the construction of Healthy House (Rumah Sehat), empowerment of sorghum farmers, aids for libraries at elementary schools in Kupang, scholarships to go to the Surabaya Technology Institute (ITS) for top achievers in East Nusa Tenggara, Mother and Kids Health Program in Ende and empowerment of integrated health posts (posyandu) around Pertamina’s operation areas in East Nusa Tenggara.

“As a state-owned company operating in the energy sector, Pertamina is assigned by the government to distribute fuels to all over Indonesia, including Rote Ndao. Pertamina is committed to take part in increasing the quality of life of Indonesian people through various CSR programs, particularly in education and health sectors,” said Hanung.

In Rote Ndao, Pertamina is represented by a distributor called Diesel Fuel Distribution Agency (APMS) to distribute and fulfill fuel demand of the people.

Meanwhile, the realization of Premium and diesel fuel distribution in East Nusa Tenggara grows 11% and 10% in average per year. In 2009, the distribution reached 176,000 KL for Premium and 94,000 KL for diesel fuel. In 2013, the realization hit 250,000 KL for Premium and 134,000 KL for diesel fuel.

For this year’s realization, as of May, the distribution of Premium reached 106,000 KL and diesel fuel 40,000 KL.

In East Nusa Tenggara, there are 60 gas stations (SPBU), 8 APMS, 9 Diesel Fuel Packed Dealers for Fishermen (SPDN) and 41 kerosene agents (AMT). In this area, there are also 11 Pertamax distributors and 6 distributors of non-subsidized diesel fuel.

Hanung said challenges faced by fuel distributor companies in East Nusa Tenggara were quite heavy. Among those challenges were the islands bordered with East Timor, difficult roads for tank trucks with the capacity of 16 and 24 KL, limited road infrastructure and unconducive weather between December and March.

“But, Pertamina will try its best to face the challenges so that fuels can be distributed well to people,” he emphasized.
