OREANDA-NEWS. June 18, 2014. Chinese Skills Contest 2014 and the National Qualification Trials for Welding & Architectural Metal Construction Contest of the 43rd WorldSkills International, were convened at the Senior Technical School of the 19th China Metallurgical Construction Group (19MCC Group) in Panzhihua City of Sichuan Province.

This is one of the First Grade National Contest of China. In this year, 80 participants from 22 provinces (autonomous regions and municipalities directly under the central government) and 7 industrial teams took part in the contest.

This National Qualification Trials was sponsored by the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security (MOHRSS), jointly hosted by the Human Resources & Social Security Department of Sichuan Province and China Association of Engineering Construction Welding (CEWA), and cosponsored by Panzhihua Municipal Human Resources & Social Security Administration and 19MCC Group.

In total, 57 competitors from 29 representative teams participated in the Welding Contest, 23 competitors from 11 representative teams participated in the Architectural Metal Construction Contest. After fierce competition of two days, six contestants from 19MCC Group swept the prizes for the top six of the Architectural Metal Construction Contest, six contestants from 19MCC Group won the 1st, the 3rd, the 4th, the 5th, the 6th and the 8th prizes of the Welding Contest. The Top 5 winners of each contest will be selected as members of the national team, and the members with top performance will participate the 43rd WorldSkills International to be held in St . Paulo of Brazil on behalf of Chinese Delegation.

The Qualification Trials of Sichuan Province for Welding & Architectural Metal Construction Contest of the 43rd WorldSkills International was convened at the Senior Technical School of 19MCC Group from April 1 to April 4, 2014. As a result, the contestants from 19MCC Group swept the prizes for top eight of the Welding Contest and the top six of the Architectural Metal Construction Contest, and won the qualification for participating the National Qualification Trials on behalf of Sichuan Province.
