OREANDA-NEWS. The operation was carried out by the Holding Company's subsidiaries OJSC MSU-90 and OJSC UAT.

The reactor vessel, weighing 327 tons totally, was lifted above the reactor building, passed between the polar crane beams and installed in its proper location in the permanent position upon the support plate in the reactor pit. The length of equipment is 11.185 m, diameter is 4.645 m. The distance between the polar crane beams and the reactor vessel branch pipes is approximately 750 mm. The specified allowance for alignment of the axes of the reactor vessel and the support plate is 1 mm.

Crawler crane Liebherr with lifting capacity of 1350 tons was used for the operation. The operation uniqueness is that it was carried out using the "open method". Using such technological solution allowed significantly reducing the risks through reduction of the number of operations from eight to three. The assembly of the reactor vessel covers a broad scope of work to ensure full assembly of the primary coolant circuit.

Holding Company TITAN-2 is one of the main contractors in construction of units No. 1 and No. 2 of Leningrad NPP-2. The Holding Company's organizations carry out 30 % of civil works and 80 % of assembly works at the construction site. The specialists of the Holding Company are working at the first and the second unit facilities of the Leningrad LNPP-2. The works are currently carried out in the reactor building, turbine building, electric power supply building, water supply building, district heating buildings and other structures of the units.
