OREANDA-NEWS. Tata Power, one of India's largest integrated power companies, today announced generation of 2,670 MUs in Q4 FY13-14 and 13,183 MUs in FY13-14. The Company, together with its subsidiaries and jointly controlled entities, has an installed gross generation capacity of 8,585 MW including thermal (coal, gas and oil), hydroelectric power, renewable energy (wind and solar PV) and waste heat recovery, thus reinforcing its position as one of the largest integrated power companies in India.

The Company continued its robust operations with sales volume of 14,516 for FY13-14. Tata Power's subsidiaries CGPL and MPL have contributed significantly after achieving full operations. Tata Power's Hydro, Haldia, Maithon and Mundra power plants generated 1,597 MUs, 942 MUs, 6328 MUs and 23,928 MUs respectively.

Tata Power has recently commissioned a 25 MW (28.8 MWp) solar photovoltaic (PV) power project, through its subsidiary, Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited (TPREL). The solar plant, spread over 130 acres, is located at Palaswadi village in Maan taluka in Satara district in Maharashtra and is expected to generate approximately 46 MU per year. This plant is one of the largest of its kind by a private power utility in the State and the power is evacuated through the State transmission network.

Tata Power is also in the process of executing a number of power plant projects, which, upon completion, are expected to increase the Company's overall generation capacity by 849.2 MW.

Tata Power's consumer base in Mumbai is 5 lakh strong today, with Tata Power's consumers below 300 units accounting for almost 65 per cent of its total consumers in the city. These consumers below 300 units category also enjoy lowest tariff in the city.
