UTair Group Passenger Turnover for 5M of 2014 Increases 16.41%
OREANDA-NEWS. In the reporting period from January to May 2014 , UTair Group fleet transported a total of 3,668,473 passengers , achieving an increase of 5.47% over the same period in 2013. Passenger turnover in the reporting period represents a 16.41% increase over the previous year, with a 36.78% increase in the international segment.
Passenger load factor reached a total of 76.80%, a 4.07% improvement over performance for the same period last year. In the first five months of 2014, UTair Group delivered 9,628.60 tons of cargo. The volume of mail transported reached 1,990.98 tons, an increase of 52.72% for the same period in the previous year.
The increased seat occupancy rate and the overall growth in passenger volume while maintaining consistent flight hours positively demonstrates the efficiency of the Group's flight operations and improved management efficiency of its route network and fleet. The successful management has also been expressed in terms of financial results.
UTair helicopters logged a total of 51,748 flight hours in the first five months of 2014. In the same period UTair helicopters delivered 29,495.06 tons of cargo and transported 264,681 passengers.
In May 2014, UTair Group took delivery of the eighth new Airbus A321 as a part of a contract for 20 aircraft of this type. By the end of 2014 the UTair Group is scheduled to receive 16 new aircraft, including SSJ-100, Boeing 737-800/900, Airbus A321 aircraft directly from manufacturers. These aircraft will be operated on both domestic and international routes with high passenger traffic, ensuring a higher passenger load factor.
