OREANDA-NEWS. Ukrainians talked through Ukrtelecom's payphones more than 780 thousand minutes in May, with the highest activity displayed by the residents and guests of Kyiv, Kharkiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Zaporizhia, and Lviv.

Ukrtelecom summarizes the first results of the social initiative consisting in providing free payphone calls to local fixed-line phones. Such possibility is available to subscribers from May 1, and extends to nearly 8 thousand payphones throughout Ukraine.

At the end of May the volume of local payphone communication amounted to more than 780 thousand minutes, which is several times higher than in previous periods. The average call duration increased from 1.4 minutes to 1.7 minutes. The number of fixed-line phones, to which the calls were made from payphones, doubled. The undisputed leaders in terms of volume of payphone communication are Kyiv, Kharkiv, and Lviv. Subscribers in Kyiv and Kharkiv alone talked 200 thousand minutes in each city.

Kyiv, Dnipropetrovsk and Zaporizhia top the list of the cities as for volume of outgoing calls. People In Kyiv called about 150 thousand times, while residents and guests of Dnipropetrovsk and Zaporizhia called about 40 thousand times.
