UNIQLO USA Teams Up with Red Sox Foundation
OREANDA-NEWS. UNIQLO USA has teamed up with the Red Sox Foundation (RSF), the official team charity of the Boston Red Sox, to sponsor the Red Sox Scholars Program. Consistent with its commitment to the Boston metro area, UNIQLO USA will provide a USD 50,000 donation to the RSF and collaborate with the organization on several community events for kids and families. These events will take place at UNIQLO's Faneuil Hall Marketplace pop-up shop which will open its doors on Friday, June 27.
The RSF provides mentoring, enrichment activities and college scholarships to local Boston Public School students, known as Red Sox Scholars. This summer, UNIQLO USA will host 250 of the Red Sox Scholars for a well-deserved, back-to-school shopping spree.
"UNIQLO is passionate about supporting our customers and employees in the neighborhoods and communities they call home and where our stores are located. We are proud to join forces with the Red Sox Foundation here in Boston to help these children build a brighter future, and are confident that they will enjoy our innovative clothing," said Larry Meyer, CEO of UNIQLO USA and Fast Retailing Group Senior Vice President.
"The partnership with UNIQLO USA will help ensure our Red Sox Scholars have the supplies they need to succeed in school and fulfill their goal of going to and graduating from college," said Red Sox Foundation Board member Linda Pizzuti Henry. "We are pleased to welcome them to the Red Sox Foundation family, and thank them for their support of this important program."
