Lenovo Serves Up New Budget-Friendly ThinkServer Rack

Lenovo announced the ThinkServer RS140, a powerful yet affordable entry-level single-processor 1U rack server ideal for small-to-medium sized businesses (SMB) and remote office deployments. Available with a range of processor choices including the latest next-generation Intel(r) Xeon(r) E3-1200 v3 series processors, customizable options, and Intel(r) AMT(tm) 9.0 for remote manageability, this highly versatile rack server can accommodate a variety of workloads, including distributed enterprise and datacenter edge, as well as standalone applications such as retail, collaboration, and IT infrastructure.
The ThinkServer RS140 offers a generous collection of standard features and expansion options essential for flexible deployments in diverse environments. The RS140 supports the entire line of Intel Xeon E3-1200 v3 series processors with integrated graphic processing, perfect for data center edge systems serving streaming media, games, and other graphic intensive web content.
Optionally, for additional cost savings while delivering server features and reliability, the RS140can be configured with Intel Core(tm) i3, Pentium(r), and Celeron(r) family desktop processors. The RS140 supports up to 32GB of RAM and 8TB of internal storage, and comes equipped with one full-height, half-length x8 Gen 3 PCIe slot for optional RAID protection or network expansion. At only 16.2 inches deep, the ThinkServer RS140 can be deployed in space constrained environments including wiring closets and two post racks.
