Deflation Rate in Georgia Made 0,3% In May 2014
OREANDA-NEWS. Deflation rate in Georgia made 0,3% in May 2014 as against April 2014, told in the National Statistics Office of Georgia "GeoStat".
Over the reporting period, foodstuffs and soft drink prices dropped by 1,7%; while public utilities services - by 0,4%. At the same time, alcoholic beverages and tobacco prices increased by 0,1%; healthcare– by 1,2%; transport – 1,1%; service at hotels, cafe and restaurants - by 0,4%. Prices in communications and education sphere remained unchanged.
Te inflation rate in Georgia made 2,4% in May 2014, as against May 2013. Over the reporting period, alcoholic beverages and tobacco prices increased by 6,4%; foodstuffs and soft drinks prices - by 2,6%. Service at hotels, cafe and restaurants - by 3,9%; in the healthcare sphere - by 5,8%; in transport sphere – by 2,5%; in the education sphere - by 0,8% in the public utilities services - by 2,3%. At the same time, prices in communications sphere dropped by 0,8%.
