OREANDA-NEWS. June 11, 2014. Top managers of TATNEFT Company, headed by Nail Maganov, the Company’s General Director, participated in the VIth International Economic Kazansummit-2014 of Russia and OIC countries.

The summit has become an information platform for an open dialogue on the issues of business, investment prospects as well as development of trade cooperation between Russia and the Islamic world. The organizer of KazanSummit is a Nonprofit Islamic Business and Finance Development Foundation (IBFD) with the Investment Development Agency of the Republic of Tatarstan acting as a co-organizer.

Kazansummit has been held for the sixth time this year and its importance is growing every year. The forum was attended by 500 delegates from 26 countries of the world and 14 regions of the Russian Federation.

Speaking at the strategic forum "Russia and the OIC countries: interaction of investors, business and government in solving strategic security challenges", held in the framework of Kazansummit-2014, Rustam Minnikhanov, President of Tatarstan, said that the forum "offered a good opportunity to demonstrate the investment potential of Russian regions, including our Republic, and also to show our openness and willingness to communication and closer cooperation of Russian and Muslim countries".

The main theme of the Summit was the food supply security of the Islamic Cooperation Organization countries. The President of Tatarstan emphasized that "Deficit of water and land potential, shortage of required resources compel to look for new sources of food supply. Against this background, cooperation with Russia and its regions is of particular relevance".
Executives of companies, institutional and private investors, as well as representatives of the Government of Russia and OIC countries managed to discuss key economic issues during the Kazan forum.
