KPO Hosts Joint Industrial Safety Seminar
OREANDA-NEWS. June 11, 2014. Karachaganak Petroleum Operating B.V. (KPO) jointly with the Committee of State Control for Emergency Situations and Industrial Safety of Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Kazakhstan (MES) conducted Industrial Safety Seminar in Aksai.
The seminar was attended by representatives of the Committee of State Control for Emergency Situations and Industrial Safety of RK MES, Emergency Departments Atyrau Aktobe, Kyzylorda, Mangistau West-Kazakhstan regions and KPO managers and senior specialists.
Participants of the seminar exchanged their knowledge, experience and learning on industrial safety practices at KPO hazardous facilities.
Gr Greeting the participants of the Seminar, KPO Acting General Director Matteo Tisi noted: “Seminar is held in the period of issue of a new RK Law “On Civil Protection” signed by Mr.Nursultan Nazarbayev, the President of the RK, on 12 April 2014. The core target of this RK legislative instrument is to establish integrated civil protection management system in Kazakhstan. KPO is committed to ensure full compliance with the normative requirements in assuring compliance to industrial safety regulations, as well as ensure the safety of production while developing the Karachaganak field“.
Chief expert of the State control Committee in the oil and gas industry Committee for State control for emergency situations and industrial safety, said: “The aim of the meeting is to discuss areas and develop the best solutions, associated with reduced risk in insuring protection of the life of the population of man-made disaster, forecasting of emergency situations, also we need to operate in combining institutional capacity of foreign experts, experts in the field of industrial safety to share experience and information on the results of activities and joint development “.
KPO and ESD specialists delivered presentations on topics such as, Intercasing Pressure, Karachaganak field development technology, Maintenance/Accident Prevention at KPO, DSIU and others.
At the conclusion of the seminar participants noted, that the seminar was very useful and fruitful for both RK Ministry of Emergency Situations and KPO.
