OREANDA-NEWS. June 10, 2014. Jinchuan won China Baosteel Environment Excellent Prize for its environmental efforts.  It received the award at a ceremony held at the Great Hall of the People.

The biennial award, China Baosteel Environment Prize, recognizes organizations and  individuals for their significant contributions to China’s environmental protection.

Focusing on pollution reduction ,  energy saving and clean production, Jinchuan met its pollutant reduction targets for the 11th Five-Year Plan period (2006-2010)  ahead of schedule. The Group has pumped a huge amount of money into technological upgrading and the application of world-leading technologies.

Jinchuan has made substantial progress in reuse and recycle of waste materials, waste water and waste heat.

In his acceptance speech, Jinchuan president Wang Yongqian commented that environmental protection plays an important role in burnishing corporate  image and enhancing the core competitiveness. Resource conservation and environmental protection are the due responsibility and obligation of a corporation and also an important guarantee for a healthy growth of a business. We will work even harder, he added.
