OREANDA-NEWS. Charlotte Douglas passenger traffic rose 2.5 percent January - April 2014 with 14,113,224 travelers visiting CLT compared to that same time span in 2013, which had 13,775,104 fliers.  

Contributing to that increase, international passer traffic jumped 4.4 percent from 877,316 travelers (January -April 2013) to 915,728 (January - April 2014).

Cargo also slightly inched up 0.4 percent with 42,257 tons landing at CLT January - April 2014 compared to 42,106 tons during the first four months of 2013.

CLT oversaw 176,070 landings and departures through April of this year versus 182,818 last year at that time. American Airlines and US Airways, which merged in December and operate more than 90 percent of CLT flights, cited the usage of larger airplanes for more flights.
