OREANDA-NEWS. June 09, 2014. In Vilnius, Lithuania, there opened the 42 nd session of the OSJD (Organization for Co-operation in Railway) ministerial conference. In the international forum the Ukrainian delegation is participating and headed by Director General of Ukrzaliznytsya Borys Ostapyuk.

The agenda of the event includes meetings of directors general (or authorized representatives) of the railways from 25 OSJD member countries and also members of observers and concerned enterprises.  

The specialists of Ukrzaliznytsya take an active part in OSJD work and appear leading executing agents and designers of many normative documents in international transport law and tariff policy in the segment of cargo and passenger freights in the international communication.

The present agenda of the discussions is as follows: main issues of transport policy and strategy of development of international railway transport corridors, tariffs for transit conveyance, elaboration of rules of cargo cars’ use in international conveyance. Concerning passenger conveyance there will be considered and approved schedules of movement and schemes of forming international passenger trains, elaborated systems of making reservations, information services for passengers, servicing and covering expenses for transportation.

The decisions taken during the conference of the OSJD ministerial conference will serve further improvement of railway international freight and passenger traffic.
