FAS Presents Annual Report on State of Competition
OREANDA-NEWS. June 09, 2014. The Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS Russia) drafted a Report on the state of competition in 2013 and submitted it to the Government.
FAS has been preparing annual reports since 2006; so this is the 8th Report.
Several federal bodies were involved in Report drafting, including the Ministry of Economic Development, as well as the following non-governmental organizations: the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs, “OPORA Russia”, the Corporate Counsel Association and the Non-Profit Partnership for Competition Support.
The Report summarizes the main results of the national policy for competition protection, and analyzes the most important changes in the law. It outlines the findings of the surveys on the state of competition in particular sectors of the economy and markets, and discusses the main performance problems.
The Report comprises departmental statistical data characterizing enforcement practice of the antimonopoly bodies, materials on evaluating the state of competition and proposals for its development submitted by the Ministry of Economic Development and some non-governmental organizations.
In May and April there were public consultations on the draft Report.
In the second part of June the Report shall be considered by the Government of the Russian Federation.
