OREANDA-NEWS. During five months in 2014, NOVOSIBIRSK International Airport served 1,390,006 passengers representing a 7.7% growth compared to the same period in 2013. Passenger traffic on domestic routes made up 816,850 passengers (+10.6%), on international routes - 573,156 (+3.8%).

Year-to-date, the airport registered 16,536 aircraft movements (+13.1%). For five months' period, the airport reports of 11,194 tons of cargo and mail handled.

NOVOSIBIRSK International Airport is the largest air hub in Russia east of the Urals on major transit routes between Europe and Asia. The capacity of domestic terminal makes up to 1,800 passengers per hour, while the international terminal capacity - up to 750 passengers per hour. The airport has two runways of ICAO CAT I and CAT II. In 2013 the passenger traffic exceeded 3.7 mln passengers and cargo traffic totalled 29.9 thousand tons of cargo and mail handled. In 2014 the airport expects to serve 4.2 mln passengers and handle over 32 thousand tons of cargo and mail.
