OREANDA-NEWS. June 06, 2014. Poland will provide Moldova with a 100-million-euro credit. The government approved a draft law on ratifying an agreement to this end.

The financial assistance will be provided for a 25-year-period, with an annual interest rate of 0.15 per cent and a five-year-grace period. The money will be used for financing projects on modernising the agri-food sector of Moldova, restructuring the farming sector, particularly specialized farms. At the same time, the assistance will allow making investments in modern technologies for processing agri-food products.

The agreement will contribute to ensuring implementation of the provisions of the Association Agreement between Moldova and the EU and to enhancing competitiveness in the agri-food sector.

The agreement was signed in Warsaw, Poland, in mid-May.
