OREANDA-NEWS. The state-owned Belarusian company OAO Belaruskali is considering the prospects of purchasing certain assets currently owned by Lithuania's KLASCO stevedoring company,

Valery Kiriyenko, Belaruskali's CEO, told a news conference in the Belarusian city of Soligorsk.

Kiriyenko mentioned that Belaruskali would be willing to purchase a stake in KLASCO, which currently has new owner, who may choose, or may not, to split the newly-acquired assets into industrial and recreational. “We are opposed to purchasing the asset along with sanatoriums and other similar objects,” Kiriyenko said.

The company chief said he was satisfied with cooperation with Biriu Kroviniu Terminalas (BKT) - Belaruskali acquired a 30% stake in the Klaipeda-based terminal BKT for USD 30 million in 2013.

Biriu Kroviniu Terminalas (BKT) was established in 1997 as a terminal for bulk cargoes, primarily mineral fertilizers.
