OREANDA-NEWS.  The scientific and practical conference "Occupational Medicine in the XXI Century. Contemporary Issues" will take place at the Central House of Culture for Railwaymen in Moscow on 5-6 June 2014.

The Conference is dedicated to the 170th anniversary of Russian railway medicine and will explore current trends in transport and industrial medicine. Participants will discuss issues such as assessing risks to workers' health when they are exposed to harmful and dangerous production factors, improving their health, preventing occupational diseases and developing healthy lifestyles. Innovative telemedicine technologies will be presented.

The conference will be attended by managers and workers at OJSC Russian Railways, ministries and government agencies, major industrial companies, representatives from Russian medicine and international guests.

During the conference there will also be a photo exhibition on the distinguished surgeon and professor of medicine Valentin Voyno-Yasenetsky, who was also a Bishop of the Russian Orthodox Church and became Archbishop Luka and was canonised in 2000. He is one of the most revered Russian saints of the twentieth century. A significant part of the exhibition will present the work of the mobile consulting and diagnostic center - "train of health", which bears the name of Voyno-Yasenetsky.
