Gilles Leclair Appointed Vice President Security at Air France
OREANDA-NEWS. June 04, 2014. Gilles Leclair will take over from Charles Yvinec as VP Security at Air France. The VP Security reports directly to Frederic GAGEY, Chairman and CEO of Air France. He monitors the security of operations in all countries where Air France operates and ensures that all company employees and sub-contractors comply with security procedures.
Aged 61, Gilles Leclair holds a Postgraduate Degree in Public Law and a Master’s Degree in Law.
A representative of the French Government, currently responsible for the coordination of security forces in Guadeloupe, he has spent his entire career at the Ministry of the Interior, where he has held many different positions.
Since October 2011, Gilles Leclair has been a Senior Government representative, project manager at the Ministry of the Interior and author of a report on the impact of new information and communication technologies on security and a report on the fight against drugs. He was also Chairman of the Board of Directors of the National Institute of Forensic Science.
From 2008 to 2011, he held the positions of Coordinator of internal security services for the Government representatives of Southern and Northern Corsica, project manager for a public service assignment and Chief Security and Defence Officer for Southern France in Marseille.
Previously, he served as Deputy Director of the fight against organized and financial crime and Assistant Director of Criminal Affairs at the Criminal Police Headquarters.
He was also Head of the Coordination Unit of the fight against terrorism at the National Police Department.
He previously held various positions within the Criminal Police Department, Europol and the General Intelligence Department.
Gilles Leclair is also an Officer of the National Order of Merit and a Knight of the Legion of Honour.
