“Works in the reactor compartment of power unit No 3 are carried out at a fast pace. At present, assembly of the reactor is taking place which will be completed in early June according to the plan, - noted Alexander Khazin, Director for construction of Rostov NPP. - All the internals - barrel, reflection shield and protective tube unit - will be put into the reactor. After the assembly is completed, hydraulic testing and circulation flushing may be started to test the strength and tightness of the primary and secondary process systems. It's one of the most important sub-stages of pre-commissioning carried out before hot operational testing”.

Besides, the results were reviewed at the meeting and plans of works for power unit 4 were outlined. At present, the supporting truss has been put in its proper place, in May blast shields of the reactor vault will be erected. At present, almost 6500 people are working at the site of power units 3 and 4.

“Power unit No 3 is to be commissioned this year.
