OREANDA-NEWS. May 30, 2014. Deputies of the Russian Federation State Duma Committee on Natural Resources, Environment and Ecology visited the JSC TATNEFT’s production facilities in Nizhnekamsk, Almetyevsk, Nurlat regions and familiarized with the strategic intents of the Company’s activities.

The participants of the event began their familiarization with the production facilities of JSC TATNEFT from the "TANECO" Refining and Petrochemical Plants Complex in Nizhnekamsk. The main objective of the State Duma deputies’ visit was to get familiarized with the environmental activities of the Company and for this reason their itinerary included the environmental facilities of the Complex.

The treatment facilities of "TANECO" erected simultaneously with technological workshops are the best in the country as to their compactness, functionality, versatility and reliability. Their main feature is the principle of zero wastewater discharge. Some technological solutions of the process have resulted in the possibility of returning 80% of the treated wastewater back into production. For this purpose both primary and secondary clarifiers were excluded from the purification scheme. Analyses confirmed that the quality of the water discharged to the Kama River is several times purer than that at the inlet.

The deputies’ interest was aroused by the system of handling oil products processing wastes and petroleum deposits formed during wastewater treatment. Application of "Flotveg" centrifuges allowed eliminating the tailings ponds and sludge pits, thus saving space and providing for return to the production of oil, trapped in the cleaning process.

The deputies got acquainted with the flare system, in which one of the most important advantages is environmental friendliness. The presence of a gas utilization package plant allows returning after cleaning up 4,700m3 per hour of purge gases into the fuel system of the Complex. The unique flame stabilizers of the headers and separated steam feed into the combustion zone provides for complete and smoke-free combustion of gases discharged.

The deputies also visited Ashalchinskoye natural bitumen field of JSC TATNEFT. Currently the amount of 400,000 tons of extra-viscous oil was produced, 29 pairs of horizontal and 5 single cyclic-steam stimulation wells were drilled with an average daily flow rate of more than 630 tons in the field.

A series of technical measures including engineering solutions, construction of new facilities for production, treatment and transportation of extra-viscous oil were carried out to create favorable conditions for the production process.

The State Duma representatives also visited the oil sludge processing plant at "Andreevka" UPVSN of NGDU "Nurlatneft". The wastes after wells drilling, their workovers and remedial well servicing, as well as oil sludge from storage tanks and vessels after cleaning are brought to the oil sludge processing plant. About 18,000 tons per year of sludge are processed here.
The State Duma deputies highly praised the environmental component of the JSC TATNEFT activities, pointing out that the Company is an exemplar in the field of rational use of resources.
The technologies applied at the Joint Stock Company meet the world level and world standards for environmental performance of industrial enterprises.
