OREANDA-NEWS. May 30, 2014. Passengers on Allegro trains will be able to obtain information about their journey thanks to a free onboard Wi-Fi network using any mobile device running on an IOS, Android or Windows etc. platform.

Allegro is introducing the new service to improve passenger convenience.

After establishing a connection to the on-board network, passengers will be able to access a smart resource offering a variety of services, such as weather reports, timetable information for domestic services for transit passengers, information about public transport with the possibility of buying a ticket by sending an SMS, exchange rates and an online- translator etc.

The service will be available in test mode in the near future, with active development planned thereafter, including offering the possibility to pay for some services using passengers' digital wallets and making available information about Finland's main attractions, theatres, museums, restaurants and shops.

The resource's capacity also extends to finding objects of interest on maps and showing the shortest route, thus allowing Russian tourists travelling on Allegro trains to create their own optimal tourist route and expand the geography of their journeys.
