OREANDA-NEWS. May 30, 2014. Fortune Korea and the Sungkyunkwan University Management Research Center recently applied the `Most Admired Company` research method of the U.S. economic magazine (Fortune) to domestic companies, and announced the `50 Most Admired Korean Companies`.

Survey respondents were asked to name 10 companies that are the most admirable regardless of industry, and as a result of ranking the companies selected by frequency, POSCO was ranked 2nd. In the `Most Admired Company` evaluation by industry which simultaneously took place, POSCO was ranked 1st in the chemical, steel and non-metal manufacturing sector. This is a result of combining the evaluation of 9 items marked by workers in each industry and expert groups.

POSOC, despite the difficult environment of stagnation in the steel demand industries such as construction and shipbuilding as well as global oversupply, has maintained high value added technology competitiveness such as in automobile steel plates and special energy steel materials. The company was recognized for excellent products, service quality, and financial soundness among the evaluation items, and received high marks in talent selection and management as well as innovation.

Samsung Electronics was ranked 1st in the `50 Most Admired Korean Companies` which reached to fifth year. Hyundai Motor, SK Telecom and LG Electronics following POSCO took 3rd, 4th, and 5th place, respectively. POSCO has at least maintained its position in 2nd since 2010, and was ranked 1st in 2012.
