In the course of the Petersburg International Economic Forum-2014, Vnesheconombank Chairman Vladimir Dmitriev took partin a plenary meeting “Confidence-Building in the Epoch of Transformations”, spoke at a session organized by Vnesheconombank “Creating Centers of Economic Growth in the Russian Regions anconducted a round-table discussion “Russian-Italian Business Dialogue – Prospects for Long-Term Cooperation”.

As part of the Forum, a ceremony was held to present the winners of the competition “The Development Award” established by Vnesheconombank. The awards were presented to initiators of investment projects by Chief of Staff of the Presidential Executive Office of the Russian Federation Sergei Ivanov and Vnesheconombank Chairman Vladimir Dmitriev.

First Vnesheconombank Deputy Chairman – Member of the Board Mikhail Poluboyarinov participated in a panel discussion “SOC –Economic and Business Interaction Areas”; First Vnesheconombank Deputy Chairman –Member of the Board Andrei Sapelin spoke at a session “Changes in Strategies in Direct Investments and Sovereign Funds” and at a panel discussion “The State and Business. From Counterparties to Full-Fledged Partnership”; Vnesheconombank Deputy Chairman – Member of the Board Sergei Vasiliev participated in a panel discussion “Latin America: an alternative key to global integration?”

The Russian Direct Investment Fund (the RDIF)organized a panel session “Changes in Strategies in Direct Investments and Sovereign Funds” and a meeting of the Russian President with members of the International Expert Council of the RDIF and representatives of the world’s investment community. Director General of EXIAR Petr Fradkov spoke at a round-table discussion: “Russia- Latin America:Imperatives of Rapprochement in a bilateral and multilateral format”, and participated in a round-table discussion “Russian-Italian business-dialogue – prospects for long-term cooperation”.

In the course of the Forum Vnesheconombank Group’s institutions entered into the following agreements:
* Vnesheconombank signed an agreement with the Government of the Rostov region, LLC MTE Group and KOVOSVIT MAS a.s. The parties agreed to cooperate to implement an investment project “Creating a joint Russian- Czech Machine-Building Facility based on the Complex in the City of Azov, the Rostov region”. The production facility’s objective is to manufacture high-precision metalworking equipment for various industrial sectors.
* The Memorandum of Cooperation betweenVnesheconombank and OJSC Gazprom Space Systems and OJSC Gazprombank. The Memorandum aims to establish strategic partnership and mutually beneficial cooperation between the parties in implementing projects on creating a space telecommunications and broadcasting system with Yamal-601 satellite (Yamal-601 project) andpojects on the construction of an assembly facility to manufacture domestic space satellitesfor the Yamal space telecommunications system and the space observation system SMOTR in the city of Shchelkovo of the Moscow region (including Arctica–R radar segment).As part of implementing the Memorandum Vnesheconombank and Gazprom might jointly participate in funding the said projects.
* The Agreement on Cooperation between Vnesheconombank and OJSC ZVEZDA. Under the agreement, the parties agreed to make joint efforts to fund an investment project on setting up manufacturing of new generation diesel engines with a capacity from 400kW to 1700 kW on Saint Petersburg’s territory on OJSC ZVEZDA’s industrial site.
* The Federal Project Finance Center (FPFC) (Vnesheconombank Group) and CJSC Olympic City signed an agreement on joint efforts to prepare projects. The parties agreed to establish a joint company, which will be responsible for preparing regional and urban development projects and raise funds to finance them. Among the most promising projects are Health City, which provides for the construction of a new resort city in the MineralnyeVodydistrict of the Stavropol Territory, the New Moscow and the Moscow region comprehensive development project as well as the project on the comprehensive development East Siberia, the Baikal region, the Far East “Economic Development Corridor Baikal-China- PrimorskyKrai”.
* OJSC Rosgeology the RDIF signed an agreement on cooperation in preparing and implementing regional projects of comprehensive development providing for prospecting and producing mineral resources. The projects are planned to be implemented through raising private investments.
* The Government of the Nizhny Novgorod region and the RDIF signed an agreement on a project to build a bridge crossing over the Volga river. In order to prepare the project and raise private investor to implement it a special joint engineering company is to be founded in the form of economic partnership.
* The Export Insurance Agency of Russia (Vnesheconombank Group) signed an agreement on cooperation with the Administration of the Saratov region. The parties intend to step up their cooperation in implementing the region’s foreign economic activity projects.
* LLC VEB Capital (VEB Group), Mihajlo Pupin Institute (Serbia) and CJSC Avtodor Telecom signed a Memorandum on cooperation in establishing a joint venture in the Republic of Serbia focusing on implementing projects to implement automated toll payment systems for motorways and intellectual transport system on the markets of Russia and CIS.
