Kazakhstan to Make Maps for Tourism Industry
OREANDA-NEWS. May 28, 2014. As part of the Astana Economic Forum, Chairman of the Tourism Industry Committee of the MINT Marat Igaliyev and director of the Geography Institute of the National Scientific and Technological Holding "Parasat" of the MES Medeu Akhmetkal reached an agreement on cooperation in the field of geographic information mapping software with database for development of tourism industry.
Director of the Geography Institute of the National Scientific and Technological Holding "Parasat" Medeu Akhmetkal noted that the branch of the Geography Institute will be opened in Astana on 23 May 2014.
Institute of Geography is the only in Kazakhstan and Central Asia Research Institute of geographic profile with 75 years of history of scientific activity.
In recent years, the Institute has more than 40 scientific studies ordered by both central and local executive bodies.
Establishment of the branch will help to reduce the time and cost, due to the spatial accessibility of the geographic center of the central and northern regions of Kazakhstan.
The Institute also plans a number of projects on environmental management and sustainable organization of the territory of the Astana agglomeration, development of recreation and tourism, especially on the threshold of the "EXPO - 2017" in years to come.
