Tele2 and Pskov Region Government Sign Agreement on Cooperation
OREANDA-NEWS. Tele2, an alternative mobile operator, and the Pskov Region government have signed an agreement on cooperation in developing telecom services. As a part of the document Tele2 is planning to invest over 133 mn rubles in developing the region’s mobile infrastructure.
The agreement has been signed by Pskov Region Vice Governor Aleksandr Kuznetsov and Oleg Telyukov, CEO of Tele2’s North West macroregion. The document implies expansion of network coverage in different districts of Pskov Region where it is impossible to roll out fixed-lined network due to technical restrictions. The agreement is also looking at upgrading facilities of the current network infrastructure. In compliance with the document, the operator will take part in implementation of state programs in social sphere. Tele2 is planning to invest over 133 mn rubles in the region’s economy.
The agreement has cemented the current framework for cooperation between Tele2 and the Pskov Region administration by setting the main tasks for the next few years.

“Tele2 has successfully developed mobile services in Pskov Region for five years by providing the region’s residents with high-quality and affordable services. By offering low prices on mobile services to a wide range of Russians, Tele2 is solving an important social task. We are planning to improve the quality of mobile services and expand network coverage in Pskov Region. I am sure that cooperation with regional authorities will contribute to implementation of these tasks.
Aleksandr Kuznetsov, Pskov Region Vice Governor:
“The Pskov Region administration is closely watching the development of telecommunications services on the territory of the region. Penetration of mobile services is very high but there are places not covered by the network. To solve this issue, we are actively cooperating with mobile operators and setting up favorable conditions for the business development jointly with municipal authorities.”
