Sea Port of Saint-Petersburg Handled Heavy-Lift Equipment from Canada
OREANDA-NEWS. The specialists of OJSC “Sea Port of Saint-Petersburg” (“SP SPb”) successfully completed the operation on handling of out-of-gauge heavy-lift equipment for Russian oil and gas companies. Shipment lot including 89 cargo units with the total weight of 1 672 tons arrived from Canada aboard the vessel called Hansa Heavy Lift Tokyo.
The operation on discharge of the vessel took less than 2 days. Special technological scheme for handling of out-of-gauge cargoes was developed by the employees of “SP SPb” and the logistic company “Universal Forwarder”. In particular, seven columns with the total weight from 43 to 90 tons and the length from 29 to 43 meters were reloaded by two tandem Liebherr cranes.
Handling of project and out-of-gauge cargoes is one of priority spheres of business of “SP SPb”. The company has at its disposal the equipment suitable for handling of cargo units with the total weight up to 300 tons, modern railway infrastructure for railway transport of all types and storage areas for allocation of large oversized shipment lots.
