Sberbank, Slovenske Elektrarne Sign MoU
OREANDA-NEWS. May 26, 2014. During the XVIII St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, Sberbank of Russia and Slovenske elektrarne, a.s. – Slovakia’s largest power generating company and subsidiary of the Enel Group – signed a memorandum of understanding aimed at strengthening the fruitful cooperation between Sberbank Group and Enel Group already existing in Russia.
The document was signed by Sergey Gorkov, Deputy Chairman of the Board, Sberbank of Russia and Enrico Viale, General Director of Enel OGK-5, representing Slovenske elektrarne, a.s. in this event.
The memorandum indicates the intention of Sberbank of Russia to provide financing to Slovenske elektrarne, a.s.
“I’m pleased to announce that Sberbank has become a partner of company that is part of a worldwide power holding. We feel confident our cooperation will be mutually beneficial. We are currently approaching the final stage of discussions on our joint deal that we will be ready to announce in due course,” stated Sergey Gorkov, Deputy Chairman of the Board.
The parties emphasised the significance of the signed memorandum of understanding for the economies of both countries and the need to continue developing cross-border operations. In addition, they highlighted the impressive prospects that are being created by cooperation between one of the leading banks in Central and Eastern Europe and major European companies.
