OREANDA-NEWS. May 26, 2014. During the XVIII St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, Sberbank of Russia and SG-trans entered into a long-term agreement that establishes priority areas of cooperation and the procedure for interaction between the two parties.

The agreement was signed by Maxim Poletaev, First Deputy Chairman of the Executive Board of Sberbank of Russia and Alexey Taicher, President of SG-trans.

The agreement provides for the possibility of Sberbank of Russia financing the projects of SG-trans that are related to obtaining rolling stock and developing production infrastructure, as well as merger and acquisition deals. Potential areas of cooperation also include organisation of financing using capital market instruments, advisory services, support for financial market operations, and other types of services, including investment banking services that will be provided by Sberbank CIB1 – the Sberbank Group’s corporate and investment banking business, and also financial solutions from Sberbank Leasing CJSC.

The document was signed for a period of five years and can be prolonged. It establishes pre-contractual relations. Specific projects will be regulated by separate agreements. However, the agreement does not prevent SG-trans from cooperating with other banks.

“Sberbank values the strong partnership that it has formed with SG-trans, one of Russia’s leading transport operators. Thanks to the signing of this agreement, in addition to loan products, the bank is ready to offer its complete range of financial services. This comprehensive approach to addressing clients’ tasks is especially important during periods of high volatility on capital markets,” commented Maxim Poletaev, First Deputy Chairman of the Executive Board of Sberbank of Russia.

“We have worked with Sberbank for many years and have successfully realised a number of projects. We are watching attentively and respectfully as the country’s largest bank continuously improves. We are certain that this agreement will provide new momentum to develop our relations and create a solid platform to implement the strategy of SG-trans,” commented Alexey Taicher, President of SG-trans.
