Russian Helicopters to Act as Title Sponsor of HeliRussia 2014
OREANDA-NEWS. May 23, 2014. Russian Helicopters, a subsidiary of Oboronprom, part of State Corporation Rostec, will be the title sponsor of the seventh HeliRussia exhibition, which takes place on 22-24 May in Pavilion 1 of Crocus-Expo exhibition centre in Moscow. The first day of the show has been declared Russian Helicopters Day.
At HeliRussia 2014, Russian Helicopter will showcase its current range of commercial and military helicopters, and provide an update on upcoming programmes and its latest developments, as well as ongoing international collaboration projects. The company will give an overview of current trends in the industry and the outlook for Russian helicopters on the international market.
Russian Helicopters will bring its latest commercial models including the Mi-171A2 and Mi-38, and the light Ka-226T and Ansat, which will be brought to market in the near future.
The Russian Helicopters programme at HeliRussia is traditionally packed and varied. On 22 May the company will participate in an international conference on the growth of the helicopter market titled “Helicopter Market: Realities and Prospects”.
During the round table on “Air Ambulances and Medevac” on 23 May, the company will provide a briefing on its specialised medical helicopters. All of Russian Helicopters’ main commercial models can be deployed on medevac missions and on air ambulances. Models such as the Mi-38 and Mi-26T can also be used as flying hospitals. The round table will include a master class on “The Work of the Air Ambulance Brigade in Evacuating a Patient” using an Ansat fitted with a medical module. The master class will be run by Russian Helicopters in conjunction with the medical aviation brigade training centre at Zashchita, the Russian National Centre for Disaster Medicine operated by the Health Ministry.
On 23 May Russian Helicopters is organising a round table on “Search and Rescue Helicopters. Current Status and Prospects”. The state is currently dedicating attention and resources to support the development of this segment of the Russian helicopter industry. On the same day there will be a conference on “Motivation and Stimulation of Invention and Innovation at Russian Helicopters”.
At this year’s HeliRussia, Russian Helicopters plans to sign a number of agreements to develop cooperation with old and new partners alike.
The light multirole Ansat, which will be presented at the exhibition, can be used in various modifications to transport passengers and cargo, to fly medevac and rescue missions, and also in law-and-order and other specialist operations. Another light helicopter on show at the company’s stand, the Ka-226T, is ideally suited to operations in confined built-up urban areas and can be operated by medical and rescue services as well as law-enforcement agencies.
Another participant in the exhibition will be an updated bestseller from the commercial market – the Mi-171A2. The helicopter has been developed based on the renowned Mi-8/17 series and incorporates advanced solutions and technologies. Visitors will be able to get up close with another of new Russian Helicopters model, the medium multirole Mi-38, which will expand the company’s range of models. The Mi-38 can be used as a multirole transport helicopter or a flying hospital, and can operate in the conditions of Far North.
HeliRussia is a key industry event held every year in Moscow. It is the only exhibition in Russia at which Russian and international companies present the latest global developments across the full range of helicopter products and services – from design to production to operations. The event aims to promote international cooperation in the helicopter industry.
