New Nonstop Services to Lublin and Karlstad to Be Launched from FRA
OREANDA-NEWS. Frankfurt Airport (FRA) is expanding the number of destinations served from Germany's largest aviation hub. From May 26, bmi regional will be flying to Karlstad (KSD) in Sweden, and from July 3, FRA's home carrier Lufthansa will be adding Lublin (LUZ) in eastern Poland to its route network. On May 16, Lufthansa also resumed direct flights from FRA to Montreal (YUL) in Canada.
Lufthansa will be operating its Frankfurt-Montreal service five times a week - from Tuesday to Friday, and on Sundays. In total, the German carrier now operates 19 direct services to the U.S. and Canada. On May 16, flight LH 478 to Montreal took off for the first time from FRA at 13:35, landing at YUL at 15:35 local time. The flight will be operated with either an Airbus A340-300 or an Airbus A330-300.
Starting July, Lufthansa will be flying to Lublin in eastern Poland every Thursday and Sunday. Operated by an Airbus A319 aircraft with a 139-seat configuration, the flight will cover the distance between Frankfurt and Lublin of almost 1,120 kilometers (or 700 miles) in approximately two hours. Flight times have been adapted to Lufthansa's domestic and international flight schedule to allow passengers easy connections from FRA.
From May, British carrier bmi regional will be flying six times a week from Frankfurt to the Swedish town of Karlstad. A 49-seat Embraer 145 aircraft will depart Karlstad at 16:00 from Sunday to Friday and will return from FRA at 18:30. The flight time from Frankfurt to Karlstad is two hours.
