OREANDA-NEWS.  May 21, 2014. As it was informed in the National Bureau of statistics, in March 2014 the volume of industrial output has decreased in comparison with March of the previous year by 0.7%. In January-March of 2014, the production volumes in the mining industry increased by 15.8%, in processing industry - by 12.4%, respectively.

According to the NBS data, the enterprises on manufacturing food products and beverages increased the production volumes by 20.5%. In particular, production of vegetable and animal oils and fats increased by 3.9 times. Processing and preserving of fish, crustaceans and mollusks increased by 16.5%. Production, processing and preserving of meat and meat products increased by 13.4%. Production of non-alcoholic, soft drinks, mineral water increased by 11.8%, pasta, noodles and other bakery products - by 7.4%, dairy products - by 7.3%, cocoa, chocolate and sugar confectionery products - by 6.1%, alcoholic drinks - by 1.9%. At the same time, the reduction was registered in wine production - 25.2%, tobacco products - by 20.3%, products of flour-milling industry, starches and starch products - by 3.8%, bread and fresh confectionery - by 2.8%.

The volume of processing and canning of fruit and vegetables has increased by 0.6%. According to the NBS data, in I quarter of 2014 manufacture of computer, electronic and optical products grew by 3.2 times. Wood processing, manufacture of products of wood and cork, except for furniture, manufacture of articles of straw and plaiting materials, increased by 40.4 per cent, textiles - by 26.4%, accordingly.

The production of chemical industry products grew by 22,9%, clothes - by 18.2%, pharmaceutical products - by 14.6%. Manufacture of other non-metallic mineral products grew by 8.1%, fabricated metal products, except for manufacture of machinery and equipment - by 7.1%, rubber and plastic products - by 4.2%, furniture - by 3.6%, paper and cardboard - by 3.6%. At the same time, in January-March 2014 manufacture of machinery and equipment decreased by 38.7%, leather, suitcases, handbags and other leather goods, as well as dressing and dyeing of furs - by 11.3%.

Footwear production decreased by 12.3%, electrical equipment – by 7%. The downturn in the steel industry amounted to 0.6%. In the energy sector the decline of production by 7% was registered. In particular, the supply of steam and hot water supply has decreased by 8.7%, production and distribution of electricity - by 6.2%.
