Volga-Dnepr Showcases Antonov An-124-100 Ruslan at ILA-2014 Air Show
OREANDA-NEWS. As part of its participation in the ILA-2014 air show in Berlin on May 20-25, one of Volga-Dnepr Group's An-124-100 'Ruslan' freighter aircraft will provide a unique venue for the 7th European Air Cargo Transport Congress.
The aircraft will be part of the static display at ILA-2014 to showcase the unique design and capability of the An-124-100 'Ruslan' transport aircraft with its 120 tons of cargo capacity. The air charter airline of the Group, Volga-Dnepr Airlines, operates a total of 10 aircraft of this type - the world's largest An-124 fleet - and provides transport and logistics services for unique, heavyweight and outsized cargo loads to destinations all over the world, including remote and hard-to-access regions and airports. Complex logistics solutions performed by Volga-Dnepr's specialists include deliveries of aerospace equipment, launch vehicles, satellites, helicopters, aircraft wings and fuselage sections, metro train wagons, yachts, heavy machinery, chemical reactors and tunneling machines.
On May 21, the An-124 will host a session of the 7th European Air Cargo Transport Congress. The conference will feature leading industry specialists, including Volga-Dnepr Group executives, who will address a range of topics including air logistics, factors that influence and form today's European cargo transport market and the prospects of airport development in Germany.
Volga-Dnepr Group first introduced its services to customers in Germany more than 20 years ago. It has since successfully completed over 3,000 An-124 'Ruslan' and Ilyshin Il-76 charter flights from German airports, performing unique deliveries of advanced technological equipment and transporting outsize and super-heavy cargo loads. AirBridgeCargo, another subsidiary of Volga-Dnepr Group, has been performing regular scheduled cargo flights to and from German airports for over 10 years and is now one of the leading cargo airlines in the country.
