Doctor Web Releases Dr.Web Anti-virus 9.0 for Linux
OREANDA-NEWS. Russian anti-virus company has released Dr.Web Anti-virus 9.0 for Linux. The new version incorporates upgrades that make scanning faster and more effective and improve the application's usability. Also, demo licenses are now available for 90 or 30 days (in the latter case, a key file can be obtained without entering personal information). Demo licenses are issued once a year per user.
The UI of Dr.Web Anti-virus for Linux has been completely redesigned. Now configuring the anti-virus is much easier.
The anti-virus now takes advantage of multi-thread scanning which significantly improves scanner performance in multi-core systems.
All the components have been redesigned to reduce CPU workload and memory usage. Significant changes made to the SpIDer Gate™ file monitor have resulted in improved reliability and performance.
A console utility that supports a large variety of options has been added.
The anti-virus can now scan running processes and neutralise active threats.
It should be noted that users no longer need to register to acquire a 30-day trial license.
Users of Dr.Web Anti-virus for Linux must use the updated distribution to install the program.
