OREANDA-NEWS. According to the State Emergency Service of Ukraine, there was a fire in an open area on 48 Melnikova street in Kyiv on May 9 around 4:30 a.m. - in a technical collector owned by Road Management Office for repair and maintenance of roads and road facilities of Shevchenko raion in Kyiv public utility company.

There is a number of electrical power and fiber optic cables of different companies laid in the collector in the area between Kyiv TV Tower and the National Television and Radio Company of Ukraine premises.

In consequence of the fire, fiber optic cable of Ukrtelecom was damaged. As a result, there were some subscribers who suffered shortages in communication of the Operator. Thanks to the coordinated work of Ukrtelecom's experts, the consequences of the fire were quickly eliminated.

The Company apologizes to its customers for any disruption in the provision of telecommunications services, which could have been felt today, and has done everything in its power to resolve the consequences of the incident. In particular, in a few hours all optics of the Operator was switched to the new route to reconnect the subscribers.
