OREANDA-NEWS. May 19, 2014. The Minister of Economic Development and Trade Pavlo Sheremeta took part in a meeting of Ukrainian delegation with the Chairman of the Polish-Ukrainian Chamber of Commerce Jacek Piechota and representatives of the Polish business.

The meeting was held within the framework of the working visit of the Ukrainian delegation consisting of Minister of Finance of Ukraine Oleksandr Shlapak, Minister of Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine Pavlo Sheremeta and Governor of the National Bank Stepan Kubiv to the Annual meeting of governors of the European Bank for reconstruction and development (EBRD), which take place in Warsaw.

During the meeting the parties discussed the current social and economic situation in Ukraine and the steps taken by the Ukrainian authorities to overcome the difficult economic situation. The Ukrainian side told about the involvement of international financial assistance in support of the IMF, EBRD, EU, the signing with international organizations investment agreements worth 3 billion euros. Special attention was devoted to questions of reforming of economy of Ukraine and formation of the State Budget of our country for 2014-2015.

The parties have also discussed the impact of the current political situation in Ukraine on its foreign economic cooperation. Special emphasis was placed on the importance of ensuring a fair, transparent and democratic presidential elections in Ukraine, which in turn would provide not only the legitimacy of the newly elected Head of the State, but also will open new possibilities for economic development of the country.

During the meeting the Ukrainian side proposed to be held in Kyiv a joint meeting with representatives of customs service of Ukraine and the Polish business in the near future that operates on the territory of our state, to solve problems connected with crossing of the Polish goods of Ukrainian-Polish state border, and a Declaration of their customs value.
