Kazakhstan Approves Development Concept of Tourism Industry
OREANDA-NEWS. May 15, 2014. Government of Kazakhstan has approved the Development Concept of Tourism Industry. It has been announced by Vice Minister of Industry and New Technologies Nurlan Sauranbayev at a briefing in the Central Communications Service.
According to him, the concept provides for development of five tourism clusters such as Astana, Almaty, East, South and West Kazakhstan.
Astana and Almaty are positioned as centers of business tourism, Almaty as a center of international mountaineering. Cluster East Kazakhstan should be responsible for the development of eco-tourism, and cluster South Kazakhstan - cultural tourism. In turn, cluster West Kazakhstan is assumed to focus on cultural and beach tourism.
One of the key tasks of the Concept is to increase the share of tourism in GDP and creation of new permanent jobs. As part of this document it is planned to increase the number of employees in the field of indirect branches many times.
