Gazpromneft-Aero Begins Refuelling Services in South Korea
OREANDA-NEWS. Gazpromneft-Aero, which operates Gazprom Neft's aviation fuel business, is now refuelling regular flights for Aeroflot Group member Aurora at Gimhae International Airport in the South Korean city of Busan. In so doing, Gazpromneft-Aero is entering the South Korean market for the first time, increasing its geographical presence to 132 airports in 50 countries.
The Russian carrier operates two flights a week from Vladivostok on Airbus A319 and Boeing 737-500 airliners. Busan is the second largest city in South Korea and has a well-developed tourism infrastructure. It is also the location of the biggest sea port in the country, with an annual freight turnover of 30 million tonnes.
“By offering refuelling services in South Korea to Aeroflot - one of our strategic partners - another step has been taken towards fulfilling the agreement signed in 2014, whereby Gazpromneft-Aero has agreed to increase its refuelling services for the airline abroad tenfold. We plan to further develop our cooperation with Russian and international aviation market leaders in the future, which will enable the company to increase the quantity of aviation fuel it delivers overseas to 5.3 million tonnes by 2025”, said Vladimir Yegorov, CEO of Gazpromneft-Aero.
