NC Aktau ISCP JSC Cooperates with DP World
OREANDA-NEWS. During the annual message to the nation of Kazakhstan, the president emphasized the necessity of close and effective interaction with foreign investors in order to attract intensively foreign funds to country economy and leading companies all over the world.
As Kazakhstan is becoming a major international intermodal logistic hub in the Central Asia regions including International near-border cooperation centre “Khorgos”, near-border railway station “Dostyk” and port Aktau, international consultant and world port and terminal operator “DP World” has been involved. The purpose of such step is to increase the efficiency of management over infrastructure facilities and develop cargo transportation.
DP World (Dubai Port World) company is one the major port operators and continental logistic centres in the world. There are 65 port terminals in 31 countries under the management of DP World. As well as, the company has about 30 000 highly qualified specialists. In view of plans for prospectively development of volume of container transportation from China to European countries, the experience of the company is required and timely arranged. The company annually handles more than 55 million containers.
Currently the cooperation between “NC “Kazakhstan railways” JSC, “NC “Aktau ISCP” JSC and DP World company has been actively developing based on signed agreements and decisions at government level.
The start of cooperation with DP World dates back to 2008, when on the basis of order of the president and government, some issues for jointly development of port Aktau have been discussed.
The discussion continued in 2013 in the frame of work visit of government delegation of Kazakhstan to Dubai (UAE). During the visit, they signed the base document considering main terms of cooperation between “NC “Kazakhstan railways” JSC and DP World directed for development of projects FEZ “Khorgos – the east gates” and port Aktau. In the frame of signed documents, investment attractiveness and development potentials were confirmed.
The cooperation with DP World appeals for actively development of cargo transportation through “the dry port - Khorgos” and sea port Aktau. In its turn it develops competitive position of Kazakhstan as transit country in transport services market in the Central Asia and enables implementation of new prospective projects opening transport and logistics capabilities of the country.
