OREANDA-NEWS. May 12, 2014. The Head of FAS Anti-Cartel Office, Andrey Tenischev, took part in the workshop on “Practical Aspects of Antimonopoly Law of the Russian Federation” organized by “Siemens” Ltd. (a subsidiary of “Siemens AG” in Russia).

The key speakers included the President of “Siemens” in Russia, Ditrich Meller; the President of the Healthcare Department, of “Siemens” in Russia, Evgeny Gorodny; General Counsel of “Siemens” Europe, CIS and Africa; Director on Legal Issues, “Siemens” in Russia, Svetlana Gerbel. The workshop participants were representatives of “PharmEco” Ltd., “Irvin-2” Ltd. and other companies.

Andrey Tenischev discussed practical aspects of antimonopoly enforcement in Russia. Participants showed special interests to the issues related to agreements between competitors, legal framework of cooperation between producers and government customers, and FAS efforts to expose bid-rigging.

Representatives of the German cartel outlined the best case studies on preventing violations of the antimonopoly law at the company, company operations in the healthcare sector and the basic principles of the legal and ethical compliance programme for at “Siemens”.

“It is extremely important that such large companies as “Siemens” implement and support in-house programmes for preventing violations of the antimonopoly law. In my opinion, such efforts should be encouraged by the state”, pointed out Andrey Tenischev.
