OREANDA-NEWS. Abu Dhabi Airports and Fujairah Airport today signed a Memorandum of Cooperation (MOC) to develop an airport development master plan that will ensure the delivery of an efficient and adequate expansion program for Fujairah International Airport.

The Department of Civil Aviation for Fujairah, owner and operator of Fujairah International Airport, intends to undertake an expansion program to enhance the Airport's facilities. Through this MOC, Fujairah Airport will benefit from the expertise of Abu Dhabi Airports in planning, managing and supporting an airport expansion program at Fujairah Airport. This cooperation will see Abu Dhabi Airports assisting Fujairah Airport with the preparation of a list of proposed component projects that will form the expansion program, and provide administrative assistance during construction.

Through developing Abu Dhabi International Airport infrastructure for the past decade, Abu Dhabi Airports has gained considerable experience in the development of airport master plans, and managing airport expansion programs.  In the spirit of cooperation, friendship and support, Abu Dhabi Airports will provide guidance with a view to equip Fujairah Airport with the knowledge and know-how to deliver the expansion program and manage third-party construction managers, design consultants, construction contractors and others for the expansion program.
