OREANDA-NEWS. May 08, 2014. Arbitration Court pronounced legitimacy of a determination of the Office of the Federal Antimonopoly Service in the Ulyanovsk Region (Ulyanovsk OFAS Russia) and upheld the 562,500 RUB fine imposed upon “Gazprom Mezhregiongaz Ulyanovsk” Ltd.

The company violated gas supplies to “Gorteplo” Municipal Unitary Enterprise which resulted in terminating hot water supplies to physical persons and legal entities in Dmitrovgrad. The Law “On Protection of Competition” prohibits dominant companies to reduce or terminate goods production if it is not economically or technologically justified.

“Gazprom Mezhregiongaz Ulyanovsk” Ltd. eliminated the violation before the determination on imposing the fine had been issued. The consequence of restricting gas supplies, however, were interrupted water provision to the residents, infringed their legitimate rights”, pointed out Deputy Head of Ulyanovsk OFAS Russia, Konstantin Popov.
